Library Use:
The library is primarily intended for the students and staff of the Institute who can make use of library collections, facilities and services in accordance with the rules. Others can use library only with the special permission of the Principal/ Director
Library Membership:
The teachers, students and non-teaching staff of the Institute can enroll themselves as members by filling a prescribed application form and agreeing to abide by the rules.
Loss of Library Material:
Following charges are recovered from the borrowers for the loss of any library material:
General Books:
Replacement on the current price or new book plus Rs. 50 as processing charges. In the case of a book which has been lost by a reader and in which case the current price of the book is also not available, and the book itself has become out of print, the price to be collected from the reader will be @ 10% increase in price per year from the date of its procurement subject to the maximum of four times of its original price. The reader, however, is at Library to replace the book within 45 days in case he could manage it.
The cost of complete set may have to he paid for the loss of a single volume if it is not available separately.
Theft/Tearing Pages of Documents:
In case of theft or tearing pages of the Library Document, the replacement charge must be charged 10 times more than the cost of the documents/book subject to a maximum of Rs. 4,000/- or cost of the book whichever is higher and person involved can be debarred from his/her library facilities depending upon the seriousness of the offence.
Reprographic/Photostat & Lamination Unit:
Xerox/Photostat facility available In the Institute at less rates than of market.
General Library Rules:
- Silence and order mi. at all times be maintained in and around the Library.
- No reader is allowed to use Mobile/cellphone in Library Premises and they must switch off their mobile phone before entering the library.
- The Librarian/In-charge may recall any book at any time if there is a demand.
- Students are required to surrender their borrower cards/tickets etc. to the circulation desk before leaving the Institute and only then they will be given ‘NO DUE CERTIFICATE’ for the Library.
- All personal belongings should be kept outside the library at a particular place assigned for the purpose except Note Books. The Librarian/In-charge of the Library is responsible for supervision and discipline in the library. He/she has the right to ask a person to leave the premises in case the misbehavior. In case of doubt the Library staff can have a thorough search of Library user.
- Outsiders are allowed to visit the Library with prior written permission of the Principal. The last borrower shall be responsible for any damage to the books/periodicals etc. unless it has been pointed out at the time of issue.
- The ‘NO DUES CERTIFICATE’ can be secured from the library after surrendering the borrower’s card and clearing all library dues. In case of the loss of Borrower’s card, ‘No Dues Certificates’ can be issued only 14 days after the normal expiry of the membership. Provisional ‘NO DUES CERTIFICATE’ cannot be issued.
- Taking books out of the library without authorization, marking or underlining or in an disfiguring and
- Mutilating books or library property is a misdemeanor, which may lead to withdrawal of library privileges, or in serious cases heavy find and disciplinary action.
Photography Unit:
For the benefit of the students and their wards, facility of photograph is being provided at minimal rates.
